For example, it enables you to store the data for a 60-minute audio CD in just 150 megabytes instead of the usual 600 megabytes! And the compressed wave files are fully compatible with regular wave files -- you can play them and edit them directly, just like ordinary wave files.
But that's not all: AudioCD MP3 Studio also supports the revolutionary MPEG1 Layer 3 format (normally referred to as MP3), which achieves much higher compression ratios with quality that is virtually indistinguishable from ordinary CDs. Many musicians now publish public domain music on the Internet in MP3 files that can be downloaded quickly with maximum quality.
